[Feature] Approach items instead of swinging at air when attempting to pick up items out of range.
When you click items on the ground that are slightly out of your pick up range, you currently swing your weapon, locking yourself in an animation.
Ideally the character would walk towards the dropped item if it were close enough (maybe a short threshold).
This is most notable when picking up everything around your corpse when you die in multiplayer, or when you're looting everything around a node you just destroyed.
Yes, totally agree. Have same situation here. Remins me pixel-hunting games, when you try to collect anything around :)
Would be great to have a keybing for looting everything within certain range (perhaps with walking towards items) while you hold it.
You can also move in range and then press 'f' to pickup items, avoiding the air slash. It's also super helpful if you want to collect everything in range, just press f until you have everything (e.g. after breaking a mine).
Not just slightly out of your reach, but even if they are in reach it swings sometimes.
This would be useful as well as add polish to the game. I noticed this immediately when I started playing and it feels kinda silly in practice.
