[Feature] Automation - Ability to pull up component from nearby container for crafting
As title say, I think the ability to automatically pull up components from nearby containers when crafting could be a good addition, because it's quite cumbersome for now when we craft more complexe stuff.

KM Dave AdminI added Automation to the title as this is a topic we already have in our Early Access plans. Internally we have been discussing different ways this could work, but would love to hear your creative ideas.

McGuffinWhile this feature could indeed be added with a research, and powered/linked containers ( for example container linked to the workshop), for me it's just a QoL feature that could be there without any "in game progression": All containers in the players range are considered. We could eventually have a checkbox in the craft tab so we can toggle the container pickup or not.

T3HPWN4A good example of this being implemented in a game is Forager. It's quite handy specially when you need to craft advanced stuff

KM Dave Admin*Note* This specific request is not planned but a change has been implemented where materials will be automatically pulled from open chests.

Robert SOption 1: Have an area of influence for the crafting bench. When you click the bench you see a range circle like you do with everything else in the game. Any storage locker located within the AOI of the crafting bench will be "seen" as being in the players inventory without having to open the chest.
Being able to pull from an open chest is nice unless you need something in two different chests. Having a full inventory bar and crafting something that needs resources from two different chests is annoying. If I can teleport my body across the map why can't I pull items from a nearby chest?
Option 2: Any containers linked directly by tiles, or through the power grid, will connect to the workbench and share resources. Obviously the workbench/chests does not need to be powered but if they are connected by tiles then we can assume that not only is a power grid setup, but an information network as well that tells us what resources we have at our disposal.
